E-Safety

At Fair Oak Junior School, we prioritise the safety and well-being of our students in both the physical and digital environments. Our E-Safety guidelines are designed to educate and empower students, parents, and staff to navigate the online world responsibly and safely.

We use the "Zip it, Flag it, Block it, Respect it" approach to help students stay safe online. This framework provides a clear, easy-to-follow guide for responsible online behaviour.

E-Safety Newsletters

Each month, we send out an online safety newsletter. Within these, there are extremely helpful guides for parents and families about how to enjoy devices online as safely as possible. There are also often updates about new trends children may be aware of with some advice about how to manage these. Please click on the tabs below to find that month's newsletter.

Guide to Parental Controls

This guide will help you set up parental controls and adjust privacy settings to provide your child with a safer online environment. Parental controls can help to protect your child from seeing something that they shouldn’t — although it is important to emphasise that no system is effective all of the time, so it is important to engage with your child and talk to them about their online life regularly.
