Tuesday 7th October
Today, a group of Year 5 and 6 runners represented Fair Oak in the South Eastleigh and Winchester District Schools Cross-Country event. There were schools from across the area competing and our runners were amazing! They ran their hearts out and we are very proud of them all. A special mention to our Year 6 girls who won their category! Congratulations to the pupils who qualified to represent the district at the County Championships next month and a huge well done to all of our runners!
Thursday 9th October
Well done to our boys football team for a fantastic performance in their first round match in the Hampshire Cup against Cheriton Primary. They started strong and went into half time with a 2 – 0 lead. In the second half, they stepped up the intensity, adding four more goals to finish with an impressive 6 – 0 win. A brilliant all-round team effort. Big shout out to Jack Guardiola who starts his managerial career with a win – onwards to the next round!
Tuesday 14th October
Fair Oak entered two girls teams into a football tournament held today at Deer Park School. Fair Oak A were drawn in League A where they lost two close matches against Berrywood and Hamble and beat Durley by a goal to nil. In League C, Fair Oak B drew all of their matches nil nil against Bursledon, Shamblehurst and Berrywood B despite dominating two of those three fixtures. These results meant that Fair Oak B would play in the top group in the next phase of the tournament while Fair Oak A would play in the third group. Fair Oak A were competitive in both of their remaining fixtures against Freegrounds and Shamblehurst but unfortunately lost them both by a goal to nil to finish in ninth place overall. Fair Oak B lost four nil to Hamble and then suffered a narrow one nil loss to St James which put them in third place overall. Well done to all the players for some great performances today!
Tuesday 21st October
Fair Oak entered six teams into an upper school boys football tournament held at Wyvern. The competition took a league format where every team played every other team. The side with the most points at the end of the tournament would be crowned champions! After all the fixtures had been played, the final league table stood as follows:
