Year 3

We are delighted to welcome you and your children to Year 3.

Welcome to our Year 3 page! The children are now well settled into their classes and continue to show how hardworking, respectful and resilient they are. We are proud of the positive attitudes they bring to their learning and look forward to supporting them as they continue their Year 3 journey.

Uniform
We kindly remind all families of the importance of children attending school in the correct school uniform each day. Wearing the full, correct uniform helps pupils feel a sense of pride and belonging as well as supports our high standards across the school. The current expectations around school uniform are displayed on our website under school uniform.

Year 3 Scooter Sessions

We’re excited to share that Fair Oak Junior School is taking part in the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust Bike It! & My Journey Schools project, which encourages children to walk, wheel, cycle, and scoot to school more often. Active travel helps children stay healthy while building important road awareness and life skills.

As part of this initiative, Year 3 pupils will take part in Scooter Skills sessions during the school day on:

  • Monday 18th May - Ross and Blake class
  • Tuesday 19th May - Axel and Carle class
  • Wednesday 20th May - Potter class

Each session will last approximately one hour and will take place in the playground. Scooters and helmets will be provided, however, due to limited smaller helmets, we kindly ask that children bring their own correctly fitting helmet if they have one.

During the sessions, children will learn how to balance and control their scooter, navigate corners and obstacles, brake safely, and use pavements responsibly—all rounded off with a fun Scooter Limbo activity!

Important:
To allow your child to take part, please provide consent via Arbor under Consents → “Year 3 Scooter Skills.”

Please also ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.

Thank you for your support!
