Year 4
We are delighted to welcome you and your children to Year 4.
Welcome to our Year 4 page! The children have settled confidently into their learning and consistently demonstrate the positive values of hard work, respect and resilience. We are proud of the enthusiasm they show each day and look forward to supporting them as they continue to develop throughout Year 4.
Uniform
We kindly remind all families of the importance of children attending school in the correct school uniform each day. Wearing the full, correct uniform helps pupils feel a sense of pride and belonging as well as supports our high standards across the school. The current expectations around school uniform are displayed on our website under school uniform.
Year 4 PE Days
Please note the days on which your child will have PE this year:
Jaguar, Koala, Panda and Rhino Class - Monday
Turtle Class - Friday
Homework
Home learning will be set each Friday and weekly spellings will be available on the school website (see below).
In addition, children are required to read with an adult at least five times per week, and class teachers will check and sign reading diaries each Friday. We fully appreciate how busy life can be, but any time spent listening to or reading with your child will support their learning and benefit them enormously.
Spellings
Please find below the spellings which will be tested on this week. Students will be aware what group of spellings they are working on.

Trips, Treats and Letters
Here you will find details of any upcoming trips, treats and important information.
Year 4 – Relationship and Health Education (RHE)
As part of our Relationships, Health and Education (RHE) curriculum, pupils will be taking part in a series of age-appropriate lessons focused on body changes, puberty, and personal hygiene. These lessons have been developed in line with current government guidance and support children in understanding the physical and emotional changes they may experience as they grow. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful learning environment where pupils can ask questions and develop the knowledge they need to support their wellbeing. Please see the full parent information letter here for details of the lesson content and how these sessions will be delivered.
