Year 3

We are delighted to welcome you and your children to Year 3.

Welcome to our Year 3 page! The children are now well settled into their classes and continue to show how hardworking, respectful and resilient they are. We are proud of the positive attitudes they bring to their learning and look forward to supporting them as they continue their Year 3 journey.

Uniform
We kindly remind all families of the importance of children attending school in the correct school uniform each day. Wearing the full, correct uniform helps pupils feel a sense of pride and belonging as well as supports our high standards across the school. The current expectations around school uniform are displayed on our website under school uniform.

Year 3 PE Days
Please note the days on which your child will have PE this year:

Axel, Blake, Carle and Potter Class - Thursday

Ross Class - Friday

Homework

Weekly Homework Expectations

As part of year three's weekly homework, children are expected to:

  • Read at least five times per week
  • Practise their weekly spellings
  • Complete 20 sessions on Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS)

Please find this week's spellings below.  If your child has been given a spelling book to bring home, please practice the spellings in the book.

 

*Over the Easter Holidays there will be no spelling homework. Please can children continue to complete their 20 TTRS sessions and 5 reads each week.

Trips, Treats and Letters

Year 3 Bug Day

We are pleased to confirm that Bishopstoke Invertebrates will be visiting the school on Monday 16th March to support our Spring 2 Science topic, ‘Animals, including humans’. Children will have the opportunity to observe a range of invertebrates and learn about their habitats, diets and movements.

A voluntary contribution of £2.50 is requested via Arbor to help cover costs. Full details can be found here.
