February Sports News

Tuesday 7th February

Fair Oak entered a team into the South Eastleigh and Winchester netball tournament today, hosted by Wildern School. Our team began with a draw against both Freegrounds and Curdridge before losing a tight encounter with St John The Baptist by two goals to one. Next up our side put on their best display of the competition in beating Netley Abbey six nil before a final three one loss to Droxford. Unfortunately these results did not put Fair Oak through to the next stage of the competition but despite this, our players should be proud of their efforts today.

Thursday 23rd February

Fair Oak entered a boys team and a girls team into the first qualifying tournament of the Premier League Primary Stars Football Competition held at Goals in Millbrook, Southampton. Only the winners of each group would make it through to the next stage which will be held at Southampton’s Staplewood Training Complex next month. Both teams performed brilliantly throughout. Our girls team won all six of their fixtures while our boys won four of their five, losing narrowly to group winners, Halterworth. The final group tables were as follows:

What a fantastic set of results! Mr Stredwick was delighted with the way that all of our players performed today and was particularly impressed with the attitude of both of our teams. They really made our school proud!
