September Sports News!

Tuesday 20th September

Berrywood School hosted the first football tournament of the year for year 5 and 6 boys today. Fair Oak began with a hard fought one nil victory against Shamblehurst and then followed that up with a nil nil draw against a physical Netley Abbey side. Durley were our next opponents and our boys secured their second win with a two nil scoreline. St James were the penultimate fixture for our side and unfortunately, it was our opponents who came out on top by a goal to nil. Fair Oak put in a superb performance in the last match, winning three nikl against Bursledon. These results gave our boys eleven points and a second place finish, just a point behind the winners, Netley Abbey. Well done to our team who all showed great sportsmanship and worked so hard throughout the event, representing our school superbly. We are very proud of you!

Monday 26th September

Our girls football team got their season underway with an away match against Bursledon in the first round of the Hampshire Cup today. Fair Oak began the game superbly, scoring early which settled any nerves our girls may have had. They went on to dominate the half, pinning Bursledon into their own half and added a further four goals to leave the half time score at 0 – 5 to Fair Oak. In the second half our girls added one more goal which meant that the final score was 0 – 6. Well done to our team who are now looking forward to seeing who our opponents will be in round two.

Tuesday 27th September

A year four dodgeball team was today entered into a festival held at Wildern School. Fifteen schools from the local area participated in the event which gave all of the pupils an opportunity to improve their skills in the sport. Fair Oak played really well in their fixtures and thoroughly enjoyed the competition, losing three matches and drawing their last match against Berrywood. Well done to all of those who took part and represented their school superbly!
