September Sports News

Tuesday 19th September

A Year 5 dodgeball team was entered into a festival held at Wildern School. Fifteen schools from the local area participated in the event which gave all of the pupils an opportunity to improve their skills in the sport. Fair Oak played really well in their fixtures and thoroughly enjoyed the competition, winning three matches and drawing their last match. Well done to all of those who took part and represented our school superbly!

Tuesday 26th September

It was the turn of the Year 3 and 4s to take part in a dodgeball festival at Wildern School. The pupils had huge smiles on their faces as they worked together in a team to take victory over their opponents in the majority of their matches. We also took four of our amazing Year 6 pupils along to help run the event. They showed incredible leadership and patience as they officiated the matches and helped the younger pupils. Mrs Cove was very proud of all pupils who have represented the school in sport over these first few weeks of term.

Wednesday 27th September

On Wednesday, Fair Oak entered a football tournament at Eastleigh Football Club. Although there weren’t many teams in attendance the boys showed they were very competitive against other schools. They played a total of 6 games: winning 3, drawing one and narrowly losing 2. Along the way, there was some great football as the boys passed the ball around well and scored some excellent team goals. At the end of the tournament, the boys comfortably finished second place. As well as their medals, they now have the prize of playing the final on the pitch at half time of an Eastleigh match in October. They were closely matched with the team that finished in first place and should be confident about getting a positive result in front of the crowd. If they were successful, this would see them represent Eastleigh in the regional finals which could in turn present the opportunity of playing at Wembley Stadium in the national finals.
