October Sports News

Tuesday 5th October

Our lower school cross country runners were entered into the South Eastleigh and Winchester cross country race held today at Swanmore College. The standard of competition was extremely high and all of our athletes performed brilliantly. Individually five of our runners finished in the top ten of their races which is a fantastic achievement. Well done to all of our athletes. What a lot of cross country talent for the future we have in our school!

Monday 11th October

Our girls upper school tag rugby squad travelled to Oakley Junior School today to participate in tag rugby training matches to help our side prepare for the season ahead. The session was really useful to our players who are developing nicely and should head into their upcoming competitions with confidence.

Tuesday 12th October

It was the turn of our upper school cross country runners to participate in their South Eastleigh and Winchester races today at Swanmore College. There was a more competitive focus to this event than for the year 3 and 4 competition earlier in the month and all four of our teams performed magnificently. The overall results were as follows (the lower the points total the better):

  • Year 5 boys team finished 2nd with 64 points. Two of our team finished in the top ten.
  • Year 5 girls team finished 3rd with 67 points. Two of our team finished in the top ten.
  • Year 6 boys team finished 1st with 33 points. Two of our team finished in the top ten.
  • Year 6 girls team finished 2nd with 43 points. Two of our team finished in the top ten.

What a fantastic set of results. Well done to all those who ran so brilliantly for our school!

Tuesday 19th October

A year four dodgeball team was entered into a festival held today at Wildern School. Nine schools from the local area participated in the event which gave all of the pupils an opportunity to improve their skills in the sport. Fair Oak played really well in their fixtures and thoroughly enjoyed the competition, losing three matches and drawing their last match against Shamblehurst. Well done to all of those who took part and represented their school superbly!
