Winchester athletics track was the venue for the Quad Kids athletics country finals that our year five and six athletes had previously qualified for. Competitors scored points depending on how well they did in their track and field events and these points were collated to give an overall team total. The boys and girls points were then added together to give a school total. When our athletes had finished their events and the calculating was completed, the overall standings were as follows:

What a superb effort from all of our athletes who really did deserve to medal after all of the hard work that they have put in this year!
Tuesday 11th July
A year four team travelled to Wildern School today to participate in a multi-sport festival. The event involved a number of different activities all aimed at trying to improve the pupils’ agility, balance and coordination. Among the highlights for our pupils was the Quidditch activity and dodgeball! Mr Stredwick was really pleased with the way our students represented Fair Oak Junior School. Well done team!

The Year 5 County Cricket Finals took place today at West Hill Park school in Titchfield. Fair Oak entered three teams into the event. Our year 3 team competed brilliantly against their older opponents and despite losing their three group games to Droxford, Sarisbury and Castle, they were never too far away in each fixture from getting a result. Our B team began with a loss to Marchwood 1 but then beat both Park Gate 2 and Springhill. Unfortunately this put them second in their group and they therefore just missed out on the semi-finals. Fair Oak 1 won their three games comfortably against Park Gate 1, Springhill 2 and Hook with Warsash 2 putting them through to the semi-finals as group winners. In the semi-final match they were up against Droxford. Droxford won the toss and elected to field. They bowled really well, putting Fair Oak under pressure and kept the score down to 235. Despite the best of efforts of our team, they could not contain the opposition and Droxford finished with 277 runs. Well done to all of our participating cricketers who should feel proud of the way they represented our school today.

Botley Primary School today hosted a sports leadership event. A selection of our year 5 sports leaders had previously created multiskills activities aimed at year two and three pupils. Today they got the opportunity to run those activities for pupils from other schools. Fair Oak also took a team of year three pupils all of whom had a fantastic afternoon! Well done to all of those who took part!
Year two visited us today from Fair Oak Infants to play rounders matches against our year three pupils. The games were competitive but were played in a lovely spirit. All participants enjoyed themselves any many new friendships were forged! We look forward to welcoming the year two pupils to our school in September!
