Thursday 2nd November

Our girls football team played their Hampshire Cup second round match today at home to Orchard Junior School. Fair Oak dominated from the start and the away team were indebted to their goal keeper who made numerous outstanding saves to keep the score line down. Despite her best efforts, the home team scored and were a goal up at half time. Fair Oak added another early in the second half to make the game safe. Well done girls for a very good team performance!

Fair Oak entered five teams into an upper school girls football tournament at Wyvern amongst schools from the local area. The tournament took on a league structure where every team played every other team with the side collecting the most points at the end being crowned overall winners. All of our teams played superbly, particularly considering that for some of the girls, this was the first time they had represented the school. After all of the matches had been completed, Fair Oak 5 finished in sixth place, Fair Oak 4 and Fair Oak 3 finished in joint fifth, Fair Oak 2 finished in fourth position while Fair Oak 1 were tournament winners! What a fantastic result for the school. Well done girls!

Tuesday 21st November

Hamble College was the venue for an indoor athletics event between year five and six pupils from local schools. Competitors scored points depending on how well they did in their track and field events and these points were collated to give an overall team total. The boys and girls points were then added together to give a school total. When our athletes had finished their events and the calculating was completed, Fair Oak ended up in second place! What a great effort from all of our athletes.
