Dear Fair Oak Family,
Happy Wednesday everybody! What a fabulous week it has been so far - Christmas jumpers, Christmas lunch and Christmas Fayre yesterday; Rotary club Christmas train today! The Christmas spirit is well and truly alive at Fair Oak Junior School – we hope the children have enjoyed it.
News for all pupils
- Due to schools being best placed to support track and trace services during the Christmas break our staff will be on call to make phone calls as necessary. If your child develops symptoms within 48 hours of contact with other pupils, and as a result, has a test which comes back positive, we will need to contact all of those contacts to ask them to isolate. Therefore, if this happens please email into the school office with URGENT COVID in the subject box, these emails will be checked regularly and forwarded to Mrs Layley and the rest of the Senior Leadership Team. Please be prepared to answer any questions to aid the tracking of all those that have come into contact with your child. If your child tests positive for covid or indeed anyone else in the household does during the Christmas period but hasn't had contact with their class 48 hours before symptoms developed please email in as normal and state isolation periods and when we would expect them back in school etc. We are very aware that nobody wants any interruptions during their Christmas break but we have a duty of care to everyone in the Fair Oak Junior School community and track and trace phone calls will be made as soon as we have information provided to us. Please be kind and courteous to all those making phone calls as they will be made in the best interests of your child/family.
- In response to our recent survey monkey and in preparation for supporting children with their home learning in the case of any future class or year group isolations, we are looking to provide some IT equipment for those children that are eligible for free school meals and who have no other device available to them at home.
If you meet these two criteria, please email the school office and we will be able to consider your request. Thank you.
- At the end of the week, we will be sending home certificates to celebrate with all those children who have been in school every day this term. Also, we will be sending letters home to any family whose child's attendance has dropped below 90% and is becoming a cause for concern. If you receive a letter, we hope that we might see an improvement in your child's attendance next term.
