Dear Fair Oak Family,

Happy Monday everyone.  It was lovely to welcome the children back after the weekend in the sunshine this morning!

News for all pupils

With increased numbers of children reporting colds and with increased access to lateral flow tests can we please take this opportunity to remind parents/carers that if a child or indeed adult has any COVID-19 symptoms they must not attend school and will need to book in for a PCR test. The COVID-19 symptoms are listed below.

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.

If you have any of these symptoms, get a test to check if you have coronavirus and stay at home until you get your result.

The lateral flow tests are only designed for those that are asymptomatic. If anyone receives a positive result on this test, then they should book a PCR test to confirm.

PSA Easter Surprise

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are coming to the time of year when we would normally organise our fun Easter Egg Raffle for all the children to enjoy.

However, current restrictions make this event impossible for us to hold. Instead, we will be organising an Easter Surprise for the children (we don’t want to give too much away). The children are invited to come in non-uniform on the last day of term (1st April) and a voluntary contribution of £1 towards the event would be much appreciated.

Hopefully, all the children will end this term with smiles on their faces, which is our main aim for the day.

Thanks for your support,
