With our Teams sessions now up and running and hopefully most of the teething problems resolved, please take the time to read the attached ‘Teams protocol and expectations’ important information, which both children and staff are expected to adhere to. Thank you.
Further to this, please use the link below to view a ‘how to’ video explaining how to join a Teams meeting/completing and handing in homework etc. There are lots of helpful videos that can be viewed on the Fair Oak Junior School You Tube channel, take a look when you have a moment!
World Book Day
To celebrate books on World Book Day this year, we have decided to hold a fun and creative competition to make a Book Nook. The idea is to use a card structure (e.g. a big cereal box) and create a scene from a book that your child knows well within it. The finished nook can be hidden amongst books on a bookshelf. There will be a special book prize for each year group, and we hope as many children as possible will join in, have some fun and celebrate the stories that they love. Please see the attached letter, which has pictures, and also a PowerPoint, which has ideas for construction and decoration.
Preparing for the return to school after Covid 19 lockdowns
Please have a look at the attachment with information for parents/ carers on preparing your children for returning to school after the school closure. There are also valuable story resources to share with your children and a telephone Support Line for any parent/ carer who is worried about the mental wellbeing of their child.
Junior Bake Off
Channel 4 are looking for young budding bakers between 9 -15 years old.
Filming would take place from July 2021, but our applications close on Sunday 28th March 2021.

ICON SPORTS COACHING - Please find attached the updated ICON after school sports club letter. The days have been altered from the information that went out yesterday with increased opportunities for year groups to attend as was the case before the recent lockdown. Apologies for this mix up.
Dear Parents/Guardians of all our existing children, who previously attended our Autumn Term Fair Oak Junior Outdoor After School Clubs,
Thank you for your patience and I trust your Child/Children enjoyed themselves when attending our Autumn Term Outdoor After School Club(s), which now seems such a long time ago.
I am delighted to confirm we have been given the Green Light to re-commence all of our Fair Oak Junior Outdoor After School Clubs from Monday 8th March to Thursday 27th May.
Your Child/Children have been Auto Enrolled, securing their place(s), on the same Club(s) for our delayed Spring Term 2021 After School Club Programme, which is identical to our Autumn Term offering and please see the attached leaflet with the same 8 Clubs, costs and dates. Places are currently available for all of our After School Clubs and your child/children may wish to invite their Year Group School Friends to join them and Us from 8th March 2021 .
On the basis they wish to continue, all you need to do is kindly arrange to make online payment to ICON Sports Coaching Ltd Bank Account 22595228, Sort Code 522118 or via Child Care Voucher Payment (if making Child Care Voucher Payment we remain registered as MLT In The Community). 25% Sibling Discount Available.
Example Ref:- FOJS5/A Example Please Quote Ref FOJS and include Club Number(s) & Pupil Name(s).
Thank You to everyone who has paid already and please note a Credit will be carried forward to the cost of your Summer After School Clubs, which will commence from 7th June.
IMPORTANT:- If your Child/Children no longer wish to attend, please reply immediately to this email and confirm “Your Child” no longer wishes to continue to attend the same After School Club(s), freeing up their place.
If “You” wish to make any amendments for the delayed Spring Term After School Clubs e.g. switch to a different ASC, please email or contact Steve and inform him of any change to your Contact Details or Medical Conditions, which will allow our Registers to be amended.,

8.30/9am Drop Off – 4pm or 5pm Collection for 9 Days from Tuesday 6th – Friday 16th April.
