Dear Fair Oak Family,

News for all pupils

It has been lovely welcoming the children back after a lovely sunny half term break. We hope you were all able to make the most of the warmer weather with the children.

As part of our STEAM fortnight, don’t forget it starts with a Science Competition!

This is a photography competition with prizes to be won! How do I enter, I hear you cry? The theme of the recent mental health week was nature and I want the children to observe and embrace nature through science for this challenge. It may be a photo of a flower in the garden, an interesting looking tree on a walk with the dog, fish in the river, a robin feeding after the rain, a rainy day rainbow, amazing patterns in the clouds, woodlice under a tree stump, your bug hotel or anything else you can think of. It could be a photo of a scene, you, your family or your pets enjoying nature or wild nature. It really is up to you. I really hope you enjoy being nature detectives, observing the colours and things around you and being out and about in nature whether it is sunny or rainy.

What do you need to do?

Take a photo of something with a nature theme. Print it off and to bring it into school to give to Mrs Tuxford or email it to the office for the attention of Mrs Tuxford. Judging will take place after the closing date and the winning entries will be awarded a prize. Good Luck.

Entries close on Thursday 17th June and you can enter as many times as you want.

I can’t wait to see your photos.

There is something to be wondered at in all of Nature Aristotle
