October Sports News

Tuesday 4th October

A year six dodgeball team was today entered into a festival held at Wildern School. Fourteen schools from the local area participated in the event which gave all of the pupils an opportunity to improve their skills in the sport. Fair Oak played really well in their fixtures and thoroughly enjoyed the competition. Our team won their first game against Netley Abbey but unfortunately lost the next three matches, all of which were really close encounters. Well done to all of those who took part and represented their school superbly!

Tuesday 11th October

Our lower school cross country runners were entered into the South Eastleigh and Winchester cross country race held today at Swanmore College. The standard of competition was extremely high and all of our athletes performed brilliantly. Individually, ten of our sixteen runners finished in the top ten of their races which is a fantastic achievement. The overall results were as follows (the lower the points total the better):

  • Year 3 boys team finished 2nd with 46 points. Two of our team finished in the top ten.
  • Year 3 girls team finished 1st with 28 points. Three of our team finished in the top ten.
  • Year 4 boys team finished 2nd with 60 points. Two of our team finished in the top ten.
  • Year 4 girls team finished 1st with 33 points. Three of our team finished in the top ten.

Well done to all of our athletes. What a lot of cross country talent for the future we have in our school!
