Winchester athletics track was the venue for the Quad Kids athletics country finals that our year five and six athletes had previously qualified for. Competitors scored points depending on how well they did in their track and field events and these points were collated to give an overall team total. The boys and girls points were then added together to give a school total. When our athletes had finished their events and the calculating was completed, the overall standings were as follows:

What a great effort from all of our athletes!

    Tuesday 12th July

Botley Primary School today hosted a sports leadership event. A selection of our year 5 sports leaders had previously created multiskills activities aimed at year two and three pupils. Today they got the opportunity to run those activities for pupils from other schools. Fair Oak also took a team of year three pupils all of whom had a fantastic afternoon! Well done to all of those who took part.

    Thursday 14th July

Year two visited us today from Fair Oak Infants to play rounders matches against our year three pupils. The games were competitive but were played in a lovely spirit. All participants enjoyed themselves any many new friendships were forged! We look forward to welcoming the year two pupils to our school in September!

The Year 5 County Cricket Finals took place today at Locks Heath Cricket Club. Both our A and B teams were participating. The competing teams were split into groups with each team playing every other team in their pool. The winners of the pools would go through to the final. Fair Oak B lost their three opening fixtures against Droxford, Hook with Warsash and Springhill but all of those matches were very close affairs. They did pick up a win in their last match, comfortably beating Hasleworth B to end on a high. Fair Oak A began with a narrow loss to Cornerstone but then beat both Hasleworth A and Springhill B to put them in a good position going into their last fixture against Park Gate. However, our opposition were a little too strong and it was Park Gate who won and booked their place in the final. Well done to all of our participating cricketers who should feel proud of the way they represented our school today.

    Tuesday 19th July

Today sixteen of our year five and six dancers took part in a dance festival in the Wyvern Dance Studio. Together with Wyvern dance leaders the participants choreographed their own routine based upon the upcoming Commonwealth Games which is being hosted by Birmingham and begins later this month. The quality of the routines that were produced were amazing as I am sure the audience who came to watch the final performance would agree. Well done to all of those who took part.
