Please note that there is no vehicular access to the school campus for dropping off for the Film nights this week or for those attending the Harvest Assembly on Friday. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please see below details of the Fair Oak & Horton Heath Remembrance Day Service.
The children in Years 3 and 5 will be painting their box heads on Tuesday and Wednesday and the Year 6 pupils will be doing their papier mâché on Wednesday. Please can they bring in an apron or painting shirt (old top/ large shirt) which doesn’t matter if it gets paint or paste on it. Thank you
There are a number of outstanding music lesson payments. If your child is taking music lessons, please can you check that you have paid the amount due.
News for Year 3
The Year 3 children are looking forward to their trip to Butser Farm tomorrow. Remember they should wear their Fair Oak Junior School jumpers, but with jeans, tracksuit bottoms or leggings, with their waterproof coat and robust suitable footwear such as trainers, walking boots or wellies. It will be an active day so they should bring a packed lunch, plenty of snacks and their water bottles (no glass bottles or fizzy drinks). Please be mindful that we are a nut free school on visits too.
News for Year 4
We have been asked by a couple of people, who are trying to work out the logistics of picking up other children, about the timings of the Harvest Assembly. At the moment Mrs Gowers thinks it will last around an hour, although the children have not yet run through the whole event to know for sure. We hope this approximation will help your planning.
The children will be coming home today with a ticket for the Harvest Assembly. If it is a yellow ticket, it means that only one member of the family can attend and if it is a red ticket, two members of the family can attend. Please bring the ticket to gain entry on the day.
News for Year 5
Just a reminder that the deposit payments for the Year 5 residential trip to Stubbington are due by this coming Friday.
News for Year 6
There is no news specific to Year 6.

It was the turn of our upper school cross country runners to participate in their South Eastleigh and Winchester races today at Swanmore College. There was a more competitive focus to this event than for the year 3 and 4 competition earlier in the month and all four of our teams performed magnificently. The overall results were as follows (the lower the points total the better):
What a fantastic set of results. Well done to all those who ran so brilliantly for our school!

Nine schools from the local area participated in the event which gave all of the pupils an opportunity to improve their skills in the sport. Fair Oak played really well in their fixtures and thoroughly enjoyed the competition, losing three matches and drawing their last match against Shamblehurst. Well done to all of those who took part and represented their school superbly!
Wednesday 20th October
Fair Oak entered five teams into a lower school boys football tournament held at Wyvern. The competition took a league format where every team played every other team. Dear Fair Oak Family,
News for all pupils
Eastleigh Basics Bank
In Year 4, we are fortunate to be able to hold our Harvest Assembly again, (after a break last year due to the Pandemic). In conjunction with this, we are asking children across all year groups to bring in an item of non-perishable foods to school on Monday 18th October 2021. These will be collected in class and brought to a central location so that they can be collected by our local foodbank.
The foodbank that we have continued to support over the years, is Eastleigh Basics Bank and we hope once again to supply them with as much as possible. If every family were to bring in at least 1 item, we could be seeing a collection of over 500 products! Demand for their products has exploded since COVID with the bank providing food for over 3,800 people already this year. This is up from the 2,451 people they fed in 2019. So, it is with great importance that as a school community we rally round and support them in the best way that we can.
We look forward to seeing your donations and if you should have any questions at all please contact Mrs Gowers (Year 4 Leader) through the office.
Many thanks,
Year 4 Team

Dear Fair Oak Family,
News for all pupils
What to do if you are a parent/carer who has COVID-19 and is self-isolating, and cannot transport your child to and from school. In line with the latest Government COVID-19 guidance, if you are a parent/carer self-isolating with COVID-19, your child can still attend school if they do not have symptoms. They should also have a PCR test as soon as possible.
