    Thursday 2nd November

    Our girls football team played their Hampshire Cup second round match today at home to Orchard Junior School. Fair Oak dominated from the start and the away team were indebted to their goal keeper who made numerous outstanding saves to keep the score line down. Despite her best efforts, the home team scored and were a goal up at half time. Fair Oak added another early in the second half to make the game safe. Well done girls for a very good team performance!

     

    Monday 6th November

    The Fair Oak girls football team played a friendly fixture today at home to Springhill. In an even game it was fair Oak who took the lead from a well struck free kick. Our visitors equalised before half time to leave the score at one all. Both teams battled hard in an entertaining second half but no further goals were added.

     

    Tuesday 7th November

    A mixed year four and five dodgeball team were entered a festival held today at Fair Oak Junior School between schools from the local area. The competition gave all of the pupils an opportunity to improve their skills in the sport through a series of fun activities. The festival ended with every team playing four fixtures to put into practice what they had been learning during the earlier part of the event. Our team played superbly to finish in second place with sixteen points!

     

    Monday 13th November

    Fair Oak took a year six development side to Oakley Junior School to participate in tag rugby training matches. The session was really useful to our team who are beginning to build up their game play experience. Well done to all the players involved!

     

    Tuesday 14th November

    Fair Oak entered five teams into an upper school girls football tournament at Wyvern amongst schools from the local area. The tournament took on a league structure where every team played every other team with the side collecting the most points at the end being crowned overall winners. All of our teams played superbly, particularly considering that for some of the girls, this was the first time they had represented the school. After all of the matches had been completed, Fair Oak 5 finished in sixth place, Fair Oak 4 and Fair Oak 3 finished in joint fifth, Fair Oak 2 finished in fourth position while Fair Oak 1 were tournament winners! What a fantastic result for the school. Well done girls!

     

    Tuesday 21st November

    Hamble College was the venue for an indoor athletics event between year five and six pupils from local schools. Competitors scored points depending on how well they did in their track and field events and these points were collated to give an overall team total. The boys and girls points were then added together to give a school total. When our athletes had finished their events and the calculating was completed, Fair Oak ended up in second place! What a great effort from all of our athletes.

     

    Tuesday 28th November

    Fair Oak entered five teams into a boys year 3 and 4 football tournament held at Wyvern today amongst schools from the local area. The competition was a league format where each team played every other team with points being added up to decide where each side would finish. After all of the fixtures had been played, Fair Oak 5 finished in eighth place, with Fair Oak 4 a point ahead in seventh position.  Fair Oak 3 ended the tournament in sixth place while Fair Oak 2 were runners up. First place went to overall tournament winners, Fair Oak 1 who amassed an impressive seventeen points. Well done to all of our boys who played brilliantly throughout the event.

  • Bikers Breakfast A Real Success!

    This morning Fair Oak Junior School held the second of our planed Bikers Breakfasts for our pupils who hold a Cycle To School Permit. Funding from SUSTRANs allowed us to provide free light breakfasts for those pupils who cycled into school in an attempt to encourage more children to take to their bikes. Ray Craig from SUSTRANs was in attendance and his team also carried out a ‘Doctor Bike’ service where all bikes were given a thorough safety check.

    If you would like your child to cycle to school then please ask for an application letter from our school office or from Mr Stredwick.

    Tuesday 3rd October

    Fair Oak entered four teams into a boys Year 5 and 6 football tournament held at Wyvern today amongst schools from the local area. The competition was a league format where each team played every other team with points being added up to decide where each side would finish. After all of the fixtures had been played, Fair Oak 4 finished in seventh place with Fair Oak 3 one point and one place ahead of them in sixth place. Fair Oak 2 ended the tournament in second place while Fair Oak 1 finished in first place with an impressive eighteen points! Well done to all of our boys who played brilliantly throughout the event.

     

    Friday 6th October

    Our girls football team played their County Finals tournament today at Wide Lane. The competition involved the nine best team in the county so the standard of football was extremely high. Fair Oak began with a nil nil draw with Herne and followed that up with a two one win against Solent. Three more nil nil scorelines followed against Newchurch, Velmead and Castle before our girls lost one nil to Oakwood. A two nil win against Grange put our girls right back into the mix but unfortunately Fair Oak lost the final game of the tournament one nil to St Mary’s. This meant that our girls had amassed ten points and finished in a very respectable fourth place. What a superb effort by all of the girls involved!

     

    Monday 9th October

    Fair Oak took an upper school tag rugby team to Oakley to participate in tag rugby training matches to help our side prepare for the season ahead. The session was really useful to our players who are developing nicely and should head into their upcoming competitions with confidence.

     

    Tuesday 10th October

    Our upper school cross country runners were entered into the South Eastleigh and Winchester cross country race held today at Hamble College. The standard of competition was extremely high and all of our athletes performed brilliantly. Individually our runners won both the Year 5 boys race as well as the Year 6 girls race. Our Year 6 boys team finished in third place overall and our Year 6 girls team finished in second place overall! Well done to all of our athletes. What a lot of cross country talent we have in our school!

     

    Friday 13th October

    Fair Oak again visited Oakley Junior School to participate in tag rugby training matches but this time the fixtures were for our lower school players. The session was really useful to our side who are beginning to build up their game play experience in preparation for future fixtures!

     

    Tuesday 17th October

    It was the turn of our lower school cross country runners to take part in the South Eastleigh and Winchester cross country race held today at Hamble College. Just as for the upper school, the standard of competition was extremely high and all of our athletes performed brilliantly. Our year 4 girls team finished in place overall while our year 4 boys team finished in place! Well done to all of our participating athletes.

     

    Tuesday 31st October

    Wildern school today hosted a qualifying tournament for the Table Tennis Team County Finals event which will be held later in the school year. Fair Oak entered two boys teams and one girls team into the competition which took a league format with each team playing every other side to see who would be overall winners. After all of the fixtures had been played, our boys A team finished in fourth place with 184 points while our B team finished in a superb second place with 192 points! Our girls side did brilliantly to win their event with a total of 122 points and have therefore qualified for the prestigious County Finals! Well done to all of our table tennis players for doing the school proud.
